MetaScope is now Parergon. Version 1.7.0 changed the name and nothing else: your files, settings and subscription stay as they are, and you do not need to do anything.

Parergon is the new name of MetaScope, a native macOS app for browsing and editing photo and video metadata. It brings EXIF, IPTC and XMP editing, templates, batch operations, search and exports into one workspace.
Your existing subscription, files and settings remain as they are. The rename does not require any action from you.
The current version requires macOS 15.4 Sequoia or later and a Mac with Apple silicon. Certain fluent description features additionally require macOS 26 with Apple Intelligence.
The registry contains 171 fields across nine categories, covering every field of the IPTC Photo Metadata Standard 2025.1, Core and Extension. Editing supports over 50 image and video formats, including RAW. Metadata viewing supports over 300 file types. Finder Tags and Finder Comment are read-only fields in Essentials and Favorites.
